Players and coaches of Rangers International F.C, intensified their training sessions, Monday, as an early December 2020 date is being muted as a probable date for the start of the 2020/2021 NPFL season.
All the players penciled down to defend the colors of the ‘Flying Antelopes’ except for attacking sensation, Shedrack Asiegbu, who is going through a treatment regime, went through the training sessions under the watchful eyes of technical adviser, Coach Salisu Yusuf and his deputies.
Nigeria born Benin international, Loute Isaac, in a chat said that with the training he and his teammates were going through, he was sure that Rangers would challenge for the league and Aiteo cup trophies in the fast-approaching season.
“Surely, it has been very tough since the start of the pre-season but we need to go through it for us to achieve at the end of the season. With what we are being put through, I believe we are aiming for the top and we are targeting to be double champions,” stated the vastly experienced left-back.
Speaking further, Loute said, “We don’t want what happened last year to repeat itself hence, we want to start the season on a high by giving our all in every match either home or away.”
With a tentative December 6, 2020 date as the date to kick start hostilities in the NPFL 2020/2021 season, Rangers is expected to make a road trip to Port-Harcourt for its opening season fixture against Rivers United before returning to take on Akwa United in a matchday two fixture.
