Table Tennis has made Oyo State proud in the ongoing 5th National Youth Games tagged ” Ilorin 2019″ with 4 gold medals and a bronze medal.
SUMMARY:
Mixed Doubles, Okanlawon Usman and Akeem Sadiat – 1 Gold medal
Male Singles- Okanlawon Usman – 1 Gold medal
Female Singles- Akeem Sadiat – 1 Gold medal
Female Doubles – Akeem Sadiat and Okanlawon Khadija- 1 Gold medal
Male Doubles – Okanlawon Usman and Tunde Ogboriefon – 1 Bronze medal.

Ayomide Michael of Oyo State won his first fight against his counterpart from Gombe state in 33kg category
The General Manager of Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Gboyega Makinde said the strides made so far by team Oyo is just a means to an end as the state is expected more from the athletes.
He however showered encomiums on the Oyo State government led by the sports-loving Governor, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde said the state has not reached the destination as they are ready to maul more medals in the coming events
He told journalists that the Honourable Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Engineer Seun Fakore is doing everything humanly possible to make the state contingents achieve lots better this year
The media officer of the Oyo State Ministry of the Youth and Sports, Mrs Olubukola Ibikunle, on Friday said the Oyo state athletes are in good best of forms compared to the previous editions and it’s Crystal clear with the position they occupy on the log
