Rolly FC of koko have advanced to the semifinals of the 2019 edition of the Bet9ja Royal Cup after beating De Unique FC of Asaba 2 – 0 at the Kwale Township Stadium on Monday, November 18.
The tie, which was the second quarterfinal tie, saw Rolly FC putting up a dominant display against Unique.
The koko-based club opened scoring through Ediale Precious within the final quarter of the first stanza of the encounter, before John Obasi doubled the advantage midway in the second half with a fine header from close range.
The goals could have more for Rolly FC after missing several scoring chances in either sides of halftime, as their free flowing football allowed them to create opportunities to pounce on their opponents.
The game was prominently characterized by Rolly FC’s possession and attacking football, underlining their credentials further as potential winners of the tournament.
Earlier on Saturday, November 16 in the first quarterfinal game at the Agbor Township Stadium, Bobbies United came from a goal down to beat Young Professionals 2 – 1.
The next quarterfinal game will be played on Thursday, November 21 at the Warri City Stadium.
Osevan FC will lock horns with Young Shall Grow FC in a mouthwatering encounter by 12pm.
The 2019 Bet9ja Royal Cup will end on December 14 with the grand finale at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
