As the 2018 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations gets closer in Egypt, Super Sand Eagles head coach Audu Ejor Adamu has told Sports247.ng that all the team needs is a few weeks of camping and they will be ready to take on any opponent at the championships.
Although he called on those in charge to quickly order them to camp as the players expected to camp are ready to get the official pronouncement to that effect.
“The tourney is some weeks away from starting in Egypt. Other countries are preparing for the competition but we are yet to commence ours.”
“I’m appealing to the authorities to set the blue print for us to go to camp and prepare for the competition. Few weeks of camping will put our boys in tournament mood and we will be ready to take on anyone in Egypt,” he remarked in a chat with Sports247.ng.
“I have communicated with the players I intend to work with. The players expected to be invited are only waiting for official call ups from the Federation.’
Nigeria’s Super Sand Eagles have been drawn in Group B for the 2018 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The tournament which will hold between the 9th to the 14th of December at the Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, will see Nigeria face four-time winners Senegal, Libya and Tanzania.
In Group A, hosts Egypt take on Morocco, Cote D’Ivoire and Madagascar.
Nigeria lost 8-4 to Senegal in the final of the last edition hosted in Lagos in 2016.
