2013 U-17 World Cup, a stepping stone for me says Uzoho

Spain based Nigerian International, Francis Uzoho has declared that 2013 U-17 World Cup was a learning ground for him.

Uzoho was only a second choice goalie at the tournament but was part of the team that won Nigeria’s fourth U-17 World Cup.

Explaining his ordeal enroute to the tournament, the on loan Deportivo La Coruna player said ‘ the tournament was a big experience for me. I was not supposed to be in the team but an injury to one of the chosen goalie gave me the opportunity. I saw lots of players, countries; the crowd, I think it is one of things that boosted my confidence. I did not play but I had a great time’.

Uzoho further elucidated that he had become proud of the man he had become in 7 seven years.

‘ I feel proud of myself. I have had opportunity to play with players I only see on video games and tv, trust me I am really proud of myself’.

Francis Uzoho had since 2013 played in 4 different Spanish club sides as well as start every game for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
