1XBET CUP FALL-OUT: Emaljus FC’s Coach Gives Applause To Competition Organisers, Celebrates Third Place Achievement

The coach of Emaljus FC of Badagry in Lagos State, Femi Olatunji Alison, has showered encomiums on organisers of this year’s 1XBet Community Cup and thanked them for a job well done.

Sports247.ng reports that Coach Femi was deeply excited and grateful after his side silenced equally ambitious Emiloju FC via penalties in the competition’s third place match at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos Island.

Coach Femi stated with awe, “I want to say this is the best of all grassroots football competitions that I have played. So, I want to say kudos to 1XBet for all they have done.”

He then recounted how his side toiled through the preliminaries but lost their semi-final fixture and affirmed that they just had to give everything they had in order to win the third-place match.

“We played among those teams that were in the preliminaries. Out of 40 teams, they only picked five. One of those teams that emerged among the best was mine.

“We scored more goals among all teams in the preliminaries. We qualified with a total of 11 goals.

“When we started the main competition itself, we lost our first match. But I told journalists who interviewed me that day that my boys would get to the final.

“Unfortunately, we lost a penalty shootout in the semi-final, but I am happy that I still came to the final day of this competition to play for third place.

“So, for this third-place match, we had to give it everything we had in order to win, and I am happy we won,” the bearded coach posited.
