1XBET CUP 2024: Wasola FC Plot Strategy Towards Clinching Top Spot; Coach Lasisi Boasts: The Winners’ N10m Is For Us

While airing his thoughts in a no-holds-barred interview with sports247.ng after his side’s 1-1 draw with G12 FC, Coach Lasisi boasted that the trophy and winners’ prize of N10m will go to his camp at the end of the competition.

He, however, also disclosed how unhappy thoughts filled his mind at a point during his team’s draw with G12, especially when the opponents scored first in the encounter.

“When that happened,” Coach Lasisi recounted, “it was sad news. I was already down 1-0 when we had a red card.

“At 1-0 down, I was asking, what is happening? But I still believed in my mind that we would not lose. I was 100% sure that I was not going to lose that match.

“I think God that something else came up and we got one point. That, at least, is a glory to me.”

He then expressed discontent with the quality of officiating during the match, especially with the opponents’ goal, but hailed his players for staying undaunted all through the game.

Lasisi spoke further in a daring manner: “Inspite of this draw, I am not happy. Let me say it out.

“That goal they scored was from offside. Wherever you were, you could see it, but the referee’s decision is final.

“Despite that, we continued applying the pressure.

“After their goal, they could not even play better than us. We were still putting them under pressure.

“All the same, as a matter of fact, we still got one point. Thanks to my guys for making me proud.”

Coach Lasisi concluded by boasting about his mission in the competition and disclosed that he already had a vision for success before the contest began.

“Not quite long ago, I said during a press conference that this cup is going to Lagos Island.

“Precisely speaking, Wasola is taking this cup home. That N10m is for Wasola. Yes, I am very sure of that. I am 100% sure,” Lasisi affirmed.
