Young Striker FC’s head coach, Ariyo Babatunde, has expressed his disappointment following his team’s 1-0 defeat to Ikorodu Eagles FC in the ongoing 1xBet Cup 2024.
In a post-match interview, Coach Babatunde stated that despite the loss, he believes his team was the better side on the field.
“I wouldn’t say the better side won today because we’re the better team,” Babatunde remarked, highlighting the team’s efforts and performance.
However, he acknowledged a significant challenge: Young Striker FC has yet to score a goal since the competition began.
Coach Babatunde emphasized the need for his attackers to improve their finishing abilities to convert chances into goals.
“We will have to work more on our attackers on converting their chances and to be able to score goals,” he said, stressing the importance of finding the back of the net to remain competitive in the tournament.
Young Striker FC will face Emiloju FC in their next match on Tuesday, where they will aim to turn their fortunes around and secure their first victory in the competition.
