1XBet ambassador, Bernard Emuobisa Ichide has turned up to lend physical support to a stammering footballer in Lagos, sports247.ng reports.

The social media influencer, fondly called ‘iBenard’ by his teeming fans, was taken aback by a whirlwind of mockery that trailed an interview for the stammering lad, Chika Johnbull Odonwu.
Social media was abuzz with vole comments last weekend when the interview with Odonwu went viral, as he struggled to put his words together while trying to respond to questions asked by Jerome Obuninta.
However, Bernard was taken aback when the vile comments spread to his Instagram page, and he immediately promised to turn up physically to support Odonwu, who plays for Dominion Hotspur FC of Surulere and scored their winning goal in the match preceding the now infamous interview.
Speaking alongside Odonwu and Obuninta after the next game, Bernard said, “I actually saw the interview, and I was so ashamed and disgusted with how people were thrashing him because he was stammering.
“So I said, okay, I had to come and support him in his next match. I am so shocked to see that he is good in his game
“Football does not need your mouth, rather it needs your leg. We need to support him and give him confidence.
“The stammering is bad to an extent, but that does not mean people should lash and insult him. They should not get dark humour out of his interview. I didn’t like that.”
He then gave the youngster a chance to express himself and, though still struggling to connect his words, Odonwu revealed that stammering does not affect him while he is playing on the field.
