Coach Thomas Olufemi of G12 FC says his team will recover from struggles in their first two games of this year’s 1XBet Cup, as they seek victory in their last group match.
A 1-1 draw with Wasola FC meant G12 are yet to win in the group stage of the glamorous community competition, but Coach Thomas believes the story will change in their third match.

While complaining about noise from the crowd that caused distractions for his players, Thomas admitted in a chat with sports247.ng that the encounter was tough because it was a derby.
Thomas Olufemi added, “It was very exciting, because it was a derby game. Both teams are from the same place, and that’s what made it tough.”
Aside from blaming noise at the arena for his team’s struggles, Thomas admitted that laxities on the path of his defenders accounted for the opponents’ equaliser, despite them having suffered a red card earlier on.
“My defence line was shaky, and that allowed the opponents to score.
“My two central defenders did not mark the guy who was alone at the second post when a square play came from the other side. That allowed the opponents to equalise.
“But, another thing we want the organisers to do is to help us control the noise. It did not allow our players to hear what we were saying,” Thomas disclosed.
He then concluded with an air of optimism, saying: “We now have one draw and one loss; but I believe we will recover and win our last group match.”
