Who is Nigeria’s best player in Europe at the moment?

Nigerian players have been turning out with positive performance for their respective clubs in Europe. It has seen some of the West African Nations export thriving across various leagues.

In the French league, Nigerian players have been in fine form and the same goes for those in the Dutch Eredivise.

Several Interests have been generated as a result of our players’ displays even as Nigeria’s reputation is on the rise with decent news making the rounds about Nigerian stars abroad.

While Odion Ighalo has gone on to join Manchester United, Victor Moses is on loan at Inter Milan with the chance to return to Chelsea at the end of the season.

Players like Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, and defender Ola Aina have performed greatly this season making selection a mouth-watering one for Gernot Rohr in the Super Eagles.

Striker Victor Osimhen’s has been an outstanding figure for Lille OSC in the French Ligue 1. He’s scored 18 goals in 38 matches across all competition. Despite his less touch of the ball, he was able to deliver many goals to his name.

His goal-scoring prowess and positive mental attitude have attracted interests abroad as Chelsea, Barcelona, and Manchester United are linked to the players’ signature.

Wilfred Ndidi has been a pivotal player for Leicester City this season. His superb midfield displays have seen him linked to top clubs in the transfer market.

Though the player seems reluctant to leave the King Power Stadium, his increasing reputation could see him part ways with the Foxes. PSG and Barcelona are reported to be interested but an offer is yet to be made for the former RC Genk star.

How about Moses Simon’s exemplary form in the French Ligue? Chidozie Awaziem has been holding his own in the Spanish La Liga with Leganes. Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze has impressed for the Yellow Canaries.

His imperious display has caught the eye of Liverpool Jürgen Klopp’s as well as Frank Lampard’s young Chelsea side.  It’s been an amazing season for the Nigerian winger dubbed as the Nigerian ‘Arjen Robben’.

The Resurgence of Kelechi Iheanacho in Leicester City’s attack has been phenomenal. The future is looking bright for Nigeria’s Super Eagles as the performance of players in Europe is hitting top gear.

Nigeria’s best player in Europe could be under much contention with Chidera Ejuke also among Nigerians showcasing his skill as we’ve seen in the Dutch league. New Eagles invitee Cyriel Dessers could be a bombshell waiting to explode.

His ability to exploit holes (space) in opposing defence makes him a good feat alongside Victor’s Osimhen. Both players could be a blend of youth and experience as the Dutch-based Dessers could complement Osimhen in the Super Eagles attack.

Chuba Akpom is on the rise following his improvement in the goal-scoring chart. Josh Maja has been a revelation at Bordeaux scoring goals to win his managers’ (Paulo Sousa) confidence.

Though Ramon Azeez may not be so much in the peak of his game, we’ve seen the quality he can provide following the sterling showing he had against Lesotho in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers last year.

The list is long as for Nigerians making the Nation proud in Europe. We are not going to forget Joe Aribo who is doing justice to the game time he’s afforded at Glasgow Rangers by former Liverpool legendary figure Steven Gerrard.

However, from the look of things, it could be tough not to single out the trio of Samuel Chukwueze, Wilfred Ndidi, and Victor Osimhen as Nigeria’s top three players.

As for me, Osimhen is Nigeria’s best player at the moment while we leave you to make your pick among the supposed Nigerian top three candidates listed above.
